10 ltr bowl any good?

Postby tk72 » Wed Aug 06, 2014 8:43 pm

My 6 year old son wants a small bowl for his first fish. Is a 10ltr ok for one or two danios or a small goldfish. Thanks in advance.

The problem that you have with something that small is that they are a nightmare to keep the water stable and end up being disappointing. If you can stretch to 20lt tank then you can put a proper filter in it and have a much more healthy setup.

I agree with Graeme, bigger is better, where fish accommodation is concerned that is. :-)

Hi and welcome to the forum.

You really need 5 gallons minimum for a goldfish (fantail) or at least double that for a common goldfish as they are big waste producers. As Graeme and Den said bigger is better and they do need a filter ideally.
