Cracked tank help!!!!

Postby Christian » Wed Sep 16, 2015 4:57 am

:sos: Hi I'm new new to the forum and could really do with some advice. I bought a large tank and stored it for around 2 years.I recently went to set it up but when I lifted it there was a crack right across the back.Ive searched the net and seen some repair patches.Does anyone know if these work or how reliable they are.the tank dimensions are 2 feet x 2 feet x 6 feet high.and the glass is 19 mm thick. I was thinking of sandwiching the crack with 2 prices of 2 feet square 10mm glass.any ideas if it will work? Any advice would be great.thanks

Hello Christian

Welcome to the forum.

That's really disappointing! Is the crack on a 6ft side or a 2ft side?

Regards

Graeme

If it were me I'd remove the broken panel and get a 2x2 piece fitted on the end and have it set horizontal. How would you ever maintain a tank 6' high?
