Flesh/pink fatty slime deposit

Postby Pooks » Fri Aug 08, 2014 3:15 pm

Help! I have a flesh/pink coloured fatty slime covering an ornament in my tropical fish tank and when I tried to clean it off in the sink it got stuck on my hands and I could not wash it off my hands even with soap - what could this be and how do I get it off the ornament? Thanks peeps

Hi and welcome Pooks, not sure what it is but did have something similar come off bogwood a while back. I had to boil it to stop the slime but with ornaments that can be dangerous as most will shatter or break with boiling water. Can you use a small clean nail brush to remove it.
