Chinese sucker loach

Postby jimpunker » Tue Aug 30, 2011 6:44 pm

Hi guys,

I have noticed recently that on the end of my sucker loaches face there are some red bulbous spots. I noticed them a while ago but didn't have anywhere to ask about them. None of the other fish have them and it does not seem to bother the poor fella, he doesn't knock it on anything like he would with white spot. I tried getting a picture but he moves too damn fast. Any ideas?

Without seeing pictures its going to be pretty hard to help you. Do you think he could have simply of rubbed his face causing the red sore spots?

I dunno... They've been there a while. They look like spots but are red in colour.

red spots/sores are usually a bacterial issue but it could be anything. Keep trying with a picture as that would help most.

Shall do. He doesn't seem to be that bothered by them and the other fish do not have any.

There are the 3 spots just on the front of his face.

It looks more like old scar tissue rather than anything nasty to me. Keep an eye on it for any other signs showing it may be something else.

Yeah, like I say it doesn't seem to bother him and the other fish show no signs of anything wrong with them.
