Mains auto top systerm advice.

Postby Katfish » Fri Aug 31, 2012 11:08 pm

Due to the amount of water my tank evaporates each week I am going to put in a mains fed auto top up.

Now my question is as its going to be mains fed there is no way to put in Tap safe solution so I was thinking about an inline filter.

I have been looking at this filter from QVS as it would do 2 things fill tank and give me good drinking water but I can not find out what this filter removes from the water.

This is the product in question

This filter is just a charcoal filter, which needs to be replaced at least once a year. I'm not sure how you intend to use this to top up the tank, unless you are going to 'T' into the output side and run it to a 'ball valve' fitted to the tank? The water that evaporates is pure water, RO water, so really that's what you need to replace it, this filter will not give you that, you will need a 5 stage filter for that.
